Leon Andrews lives in Queensland, Australia and very is much alone with
his JBA.
His nearest JBA owner lives 500 kilometers south of him, approximately 312
miles away which is not a problem as he enjoys driving in 99% sunshine.
Leon's
JBA was originally built in Perth in 1994 by the then service manager for
Mitsubishi of Western Australia.
I guess
this is the reason the car has an Astron 2 engine and a Mitsubishi 5
speed box.
The engine
was new and now has about 21000 Klms up.
Seems to have plenty of power and goes well. I stay in 3rd at 60k's and
have been on one trip from Gladstone to the Sunshine Coast and back.
Returned about 10 litres per 100klms which is not to bad. Runs on PULP
and Penrite HPR5 synthetic engine oil.
There are about 160 JBA's in Australia, mostly in Perth where
Murray Frazer the importer lives.
Maybe when the time is right I could change the carby for a Sigma fuel
injection system and could also fit a turbo off a Cordia. Now that
would be interesting.
I've made a few mods including an AP50 cruise control, a bigger and much
more visible LED brake light and a set of extra loud air horns.
Murray Fraser
the agent for JBA cars is very helpful even though he is
5,000 kilometers, roughly 3,125 miles apart
in Perth, Western
Australia.
I have to agree the JBA’s are
great cars and I’m a happy proud owner.
Leon.
