Hi! My name is Buffie.
I was born in Falkirk, Stirlingshire, Scotland on
Wednesday 12th of November 2003.
I am one of the boys in
a litter of 6 puppies and have another four brothers and
one sister and am also a Lhasa Apso a wee Tibetan Mountain
dog.
When I first saw my new mum
and dad, I was five weeks and three days old Mum was holding me when this strange guy with a silver
mask and one eye, approached me. I'm not very sure about him,
guess I better give a warning look too, with just one eye.
Suddenly there was a
flash of light from his mask, when I looked again there was no
mask, it was my new dad.
I saw him
with this mask again, seemingly it's called a camera. He
was taking photos of two of my brothers with my sister in
the middle. They were looking to see what I was
doing.
Really nosy they are, I was only giving my new mum kisses.
Mum and her
husband had three names for me, their new puppy, Buffie, Fern or
Skye.
However my mistress Bunny, called me Buffie, not the same name
as the TV vampire.
I'm actually named after a street in Dunfermline, which is
called Buffie's Brae. The name Brae means a small hill or
incline in Scotland.
This is my mum
"Minny" with a worried look, guarding the six of us when my new master and mistress
first came to visit. Mum's coat was trimmed short for our birth.
I did not realise that I first met my new mum and dad when I
was only 2 days old and they chose me, from all my other
brothers and sister.
Mum chose me because she liked my face markings and dad
liked the markings on my body.
My official Kennel Club name is "Kalantor
Celebration" and it is true that my new owners did
celebrate after choosing me.
Here
we all are, six beautiful puppies.
They
were very kind and affectionate and I learned a little bit more
about them.
Seemingly
five days after their Lhasa Apso called Kizzie had died, they
missed her so much, their house was so empty without her that
they chose to have another wee Lhasa from a reputable breeder.
They had not picked me just on this one visit, but had ordered a
puppy from Anne my breeder on the 30th August 2003, before I was even
born.
My dad was looking for a pup with gold and white colours and
took a photo of Tootz and Wiglet with him, these are two
of Askja girls. The link to all their beautiful dogs is at
the bottom of the page.
Anne said that
she would be breeding from dogs of this colour, during
the intervening period my new owners were preparing for my arrival.
Although I was sad about their loss I was pleased to be going to
a home that understood us Lhasa Apsos, as we can be very
determined little dogs.
However
my new owners had seen a Lhasa Apso who
was looking for a loving home, called Daisy, at a
rescue centre in Aberdeen on the Internet in October, they were lucky enough
to have her.
I do hope Daisy likes me.
They have already registered me with Pet
Planet. My dad has bought me loads of toys from them.
This is a mail order warehouse in Livingston, Scotland that stocks
thousands of pet goodies and food.
Their website contains info
on breeds, health and many other subjects.
I was also registered with their local Vet Mr.Ken Davison of
Inglis
Veterinary Centre Dunfermline away back in November.
Here I am
trying to reach my dad's fingers to have a nice chew. However
I will stay with my brothers and sister until the 2nd
January 2004 before I can
join them as I still have to be with my mum as she has to teach
us doggie habits.
My new
owners were very pleased with me and the socializing my
breeder Anne has given me with people, cats, other big dogs as
well as Lhasa grown ups and all the noises in the kitchen
and around the house.

I
think I should be happy with my new folks as my
owners recommend these two books. The Perfect
Puppy by Gwen Bailey and the RSPCA Dog Training
Manual by Bruce
Fogle the vet
on BBC Radio 2 and
both books are available
in local libraries.
