That day came and my new mum and dad arrived at noon on Friday 2nd-January-2004. They made a fuss of me and my other litter mates, dad kept taking photos and playing with us.
My breeder Anne explained to my mum "Bunny" about the food I was eating and the amounts to feed me and gave mum my diet sheet and that I had been wormed on Christmas day.

Soon it was time to leave and say goodbye to my brothers and other Lhasa puppies from a litter that were born a week after me.

My mum was sad to see me leave, here she is in the middle of some of the other Lhasa Apso adults I had been been brought up with, they are in the kitchen.
The wire gate is to stop us older puppies entering the kitchen and bothering our adults.

Bunny picked me up and very carefully wrapped me inside her coat and carried me out to this funny looking box they called a car, I had never been in one of these things before.
It was very cold outside, but the box was warm, dad jumped in carrying my bag of food that Anne had prepared for me, this would last me a week.
My dad started the car and we moved off, I was very apprehensive, in fact I was very scared, even although my mum was stroking and talking to me all the way.
Twenty minutes later we arrived at my new home, but before I could go in, I had to meet their other dog Daisy on neutral territory.

Mum and dad were a bit apprehensive about me meeting Daisy as she was in heat and introduced the two of us in the back garden. I was pleased to see another Lhasa and Daisy took to me in an instant. Once I had done my toilet my dad praised me calling me good boy.

Then as I was entering Daisy's territory, I was carried into the house first, while mum took Daisy a walk and they arrived a short while later.
It was nice to see some toys.

Daisy followed me everywhere as I started to explore my new surroundings, we entered into the kitchen where Bunny was making tea.
Mmmmmm I could do with a drink and a munch too. Daisy had a drink from her bowl of water and I joined her. I followed my dad and mum into the living room, where they sank down on the sofa with two cups of tea and some biscuits.

They just ignored me until they had drank their tea. Then called me to follow them both into the kitchen. My dad drew two bowls from a cupboard and filled one with fresh water whilst mum filled the other with dog food, which they both set down on the floor.
I really was pleased, as it was the same brand of food my breeder gave me, which I wolfed up.
Guess my new owners were trying to tell me something, they feed first and me last.
Once I had finished my meal dad took me into the garden again and said that toilet word to me, praising me once again when I did something.
Every hour I was taken out into the garden.

Now it was time to check out the sleeping quarters, guess I was sleeping with Daisy, just as I had shared with my brothers and sister. But no, dad went upstairs and brought down this new playpen, which he set up at the side of the TV so that I could see everyone in the room.
Most people set this up in the kitchen, but ours is too small and narrow.

Mum and dad helped me to explore the playpen. They did not force me to go in, just opened the door, each had a look inside. So I thought I would have a look myself, very comfortable with a vet blanket on the floor and a bed at one end with lots of toys. Of course I knew what a playpen was, as Anne my breeder had a few of these.

However I kept returning to Daisy's bed as I had never slept on my own before. Daisy did not seem to mind but dad did, he placed my tartan bed next to Daisy's, but I liked the big bed.
Not to let me get the better of him, he produced a big doggie cushion and placed me in, this was warm and comfortable.
Daisy told me this was my day bed. Soon I fell sound asleep.

During the day I had lots of visitors come to see me, including my mum and dad's son Kenny and his wife Sharon, they made a right fuss of me.
I had loads of play sessions all through the day and now it was time for my last meal.

After I had been at the toilet my dad decided that it was time for bed.
I thought we would all cuddle up together, but no, my mum wrapped a warm hot water bottle in a blanket and put it in my bed inside my playpen along with another piece of blanket my breeder Anne had given them.
This was cut from the one I used with my brothers and sister, as it had all our smells on it.

Mum lifted me into the bed and put some newspapers down at the other end and removed my soft toys, leaving me with safe rubber ones.
Daisy was in her own bed and dad lay on the couch to be near me all night, but when he put out the light I felt very lonely without my brothers and sister and cried for an hour. Then started to whimper for a little while, come and cuddle me I was saying, I feel so lonely, Daisy kept coming over but no one else, even although I was crying myself to sleep.

What will happen to me tomorrow.
