Buffie Daisy Kizzie Takes You To My JBA Falcon Site

Daisy the Lhasa Apso

Rescue Dog

Hi! My name is Daisy. I am also a Lhasa Apso a wee Tibetan Mountain dog four and a half years old. I am a rescue dog who was looking for a new home.

I was cared for by the Dogs Action Working Group Scotland in Aberdeen.
DAWGS for short, you can click on their banner below to find out a lot more about them and see other doggies.

This is my first photo slightly enlarged above, it was taken when I was first registered on their website and posted again on the 16-October-2003.
I have already lived with two families who gave me up and this will be my third new home if a new owner takes me.

My new owners first saw my picture ten days later and emailed DAWGS to offer me a home.
They found my Aberdeen centre through the Dog Rescue website.

During my stay at DAWGS I was living with a kind lady in a foster home and not in kennels.
All I want is to give love, loyalty and affection, in return all I ask is fresh water, food, a comfortable bed and a warm place to sleep.
A kind and understanding owner, who will love me and teach me things and take me to the vet, if I become ill.

Treat us the way you humans would like to be treated.
If we are unable to do something, it is not our fault if we haven't learned anything, It is the humans who have not taught us, after all they go to school to be taught and later they are taught how to carry on a job of work.
Humans have to teach us. Please teach us the proper way.

However it is not every human that can really understand what a rescue dog needs or has had to endure.
Some dogs end up in rescue homes because our loving owner's circumstances have changed and can no longer care for us, others because the owners have bought the wrong breed of dog.
Sadly a great many of we doggies arrive here because we have been badly treated, neglected, abandoned or abused.

My new owners have arranged to meet me on Wednesday 29-October-2003.
Will they like me and understand me. I guess I will be very very nervous and a bit afraid. I might not be able to show my true character.
I do hope they will understand and be kind to me, never hit me and train me to do things I've not been taught with patience, kindness and understanding.
I want them to like me, but I'm afraid it could take me a while to learn and to trust them,
Hopefully I will learn enough from them to regain my confidence and to trust once more.

Wednesday came and my foster mum took me to DAWGS to await their arrival, I did not have to wait long.
I greeted them with all the love I could muster and even allowed them to tickle my tummy. I instantly knew they liked me as they showered me with affection.
The staff explained some of my history and the problems I had encountered, then my paperwork was brought out and I knew they were going to take me.
While this was being prepared we went for a walk down the lane.
I thought I would test them out by doing my own thing, like suddenly stopping and looking around, deciding what I wanted to do next.
They just laughed and said typical Lhasa.

Now it was time to leave, I was anxious but settled myself in the backseat with my new mum and the staff helped to load my belongings into the boot
I had quite a lot of stuff, food, food bowls, treats, biscuits, brush and comb, shampoo, bed and bedding and a toy.
It was quite a long journey to my new home and my new mum kept petting me all the way before arriving home we stopped at
my new owner's son's house, where I was greeted with lots of love by
Kenny Sharon and Dane. Then onto my new home. My new mum and dad let me search round the house and placed my bed at the side of the fireplace in the living room.
Over tea my master read my foster mum's report and noted that I did not like my bed, as it was a wee bit small.

He brought down Kizzie's old bed as she had never used it preferring a doggie cushion. This was smashing almost double the size.

DAWGS had said that I usually don't eat on my first night in an new home. However I did scoff all my dinner down. My master said this was probably due to my foster mum's care and the petting my new mum gave me on our journey.

Soon it was time for a short stroll and back to the house.

I started to yawn, I was feeling quite tired, it had been an exciting day.

My dad slept on the sofa all night to keep me company on this first night.
In the morning he made coffee and took a cup upstairs to my mum.
He called me upstairs, I was ever so pleased to see mum.
She invited me onto the bed where she tickled me.

This was Sheer Heaven to me.

My routine after this, was out for a short walk then breakfast.
Midday a long leisurely walk round the village and into the woods,
where I could spend my time sniffing and marking my scent.
My mum and dad were trying to teach me all the different ways back to my new home, as I am only two minutes away from the woods I could easily get lost, if I was let off the lead.

Wonder if my new owners will register me on Pet Planet. Loads and Loads of Doggie goodies here. Seemingly it's not far away from my new home.

Call back shortly and I will tell you how I progress.
Read my continuing story.

Maybe I will put links up to some Lhasa Apso sites.
There are loads of them and the Rescue sites.
