Fitting The JBA Badge

Starting work on the JBA badge. I was disappointed with the quality of this piece. I had expected something that would just ‘go on’. The casting had left so many imperfections I polished until it was flat and the flaws gone.

Holes 7mm deep milled into the rear

Polishing done, but note the loss of letter shape on the ‘B’ and the ‘A’ as the polishing had run the letter into the edge

Two 6mm brass cheese-head machine screws were filed down to 7mm head depth and soldered into the sockets

Mounted, offered to the radiator surround.

Chromed. Note I had filed out the letters so that they were clear again.

December 03 just before I started stripping the car for paintwork

Stripping underway.

Various brackets painted.
