Welcome To

Now in 2010 we do not  have a JBA Factory producing any vehicle that has been evaluated in any articles in the various Kit Car Press magazines or approved by VOSA BIVA testing.

Please note these are the old build pages from 1999 to 2004 when we had a JBA Factory in full production from 1982 that was regularly featured in the Kit Car Press and complied with regulations including passing UK Vosa SVA/BIVA tests and TUV tests in the EU.
A 2004 JBA Engineering Ltd Sports SR kit has passed the new BIVA test in June 2009.

They are here to help you with photos and hints and tips from owner-builders of JBA Falcons. Remember these pages are just for guidance and it is up to each individual how they tackle their build.
No responsibility can be accepted for any advice, hints and tips or guidance given in these pages.

Remember that they must be used with the JBA Build Manual
They are not a substitute for the Manual
Technology moves on and SVA legislation is constantly updated, the Build Manual will change to allow for improvements and current legislation.

What's New about these build pages.
Firstly to try to convey the building of a JBA Falcon with the SVA in mind. Linking you to government sites, as well as magazine sites for the latest information.
Each page will detail any suppliers used, with links to their websites, or their address. This will save new builders searching the site for such information.
Photos
that show certain parts, wherever possible, will contain a link to a larger photo for more clarity and detail.
What is SVA

SVA is Singular Vehicle Approval and is a test carried out on kit cars and imported cars at Goods Vehicle Test Stations operated by the Department of Transport and called the Vehicle Inspectorate. Soon to move to an new organisation.
VOSA The new organisation will be formed on 1 April 2003 and will be named the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA). It will be part of the Driver, Vehicle, Operator Group of the Department for Transport.

This symbol is used throughout these pages to remind you to read your build manual.
Most of the text relates to the Falcon Sports and will vary from the Falcon TSR.
All measurements will have to be checked in your own build manual.

Ordering Your Kit Tips

Always check with JBA for current prices. Remember to advise JBA what engine you may be thinking of fitting, and decide on this, as the mounting brackets have to be fitted to the chassis for the specific engine.
Engines are not limited to the Sierra, many other types of engines have been fitted including the Fiat twin cam and the Rover V8.

Engines can be fitted at the factory.
New propshafts and petrol tanks are available from JBA for DOHC engines.

Kit Contents and Accessories prices can be found for the Falcon Sports and the Falcon TSR on the links below.
Kits can be purchased in stages to help spread the cost.
Please note that extras are not part of the kit and have to be ordered separately.
See Top Tip on next page.

Parts of the kit are in unpolished stainless steel. You may find difficulty finding a polishing firm, especially if you live far from the industrial areas. See Update below.

Please check for Current Price from JBA.
This is one area where builders have difficulty in finding a firm to undertake this work.
As firms are not usually keen on one off jobs, and usually high prices.
Polishing yourself  takes weeks, to try and achieve the results accomplished by the Professionals, as these items are Stainless Steel.

25th November 2004
JBA Cars are now under new management and Tim Banwell is supplying all stainless steel parts mirror polished when you purchase a kit.

Waiting Time

The time waiting for your kit to arrive can vary, however JBA will give you an estimated date.
Then once your kit is almost ready, they will phone you with a collection date.

During this time you will be planning and thinking up ideas for your project. More of this on the next page, which deals with savings, planning and help.
