Now in 2010 we do not have a JBA Factory producing any vehicle that has been evaluated in any articles in the various Kit Car Press magazines or approved by VOSA BIVA testing.
Please note these are the old build pages from 1999 to 2004 when we had a JBA Factory in full production from 1982 that was regularly featured in the Kit Car Press and complied with regulations including passing UK Vosa SVA/BIVA tests and TUV tests in the EU.
A 2004 JBA Engineering Ltd Sports SR kit has passed the new BIVA test in June 2009.

What You Will
Need
Silicon Sealer.
Fuel Filler Hose.
Fuel Filler Cap
Jubilee Clips
Boot Handle, Boot Locking Mechanism.
Follow the instructions and
measurements in the build manual. I myself have never fitted this boot, as
they were not available when I built my Sports. However I will describe
what Doug Philp done.
Doug had to
reduce the bottom flange at the rear of the CBU to fit the boot into
position, before bolting it in place. Then drilled the hole for fitting
the Fuel Cap and bolted it into position with the backing plate.
He
then removed the boot and fitted the new Fuel hose to the tank and the
cap.
Next
Doug made up a plate to hold the spare wheel as per manual. Then
added the the boot hinge and seal, plus the locking handle and mechanism.
Which should be the turn type and not the
slam type.
The boot seal is the spongy type which will create a water tight seal.
The Boot can be trimmed in
material of your choice. Notice the boot light that Phil has fitted.

When fitting the Boot Lid hinge use stainless steel rounded bolts and nuts with washers behind to protect fibre glass, pop rivets are not strong enough to carry the weight of the spare wheel. It is not the first time owners' boot lids have fallen off whilst driving using pop rivets.
The types of
boot Locking Handles from Europa above. Check with them, which one is SVA
approved.
The Fuel Hose
and Fuel Cap SVA approved, boot handle and locking mechanism are available
from Europa,
The locking mechanism can also be obtained from the rear doors of scrap
vans at your local dismantler.
These need to be cut down to fit.
This photo
above shows the position of the boot hinge.
The photo
above shows the position of the boot lid that you are trying to achieve.
The protruding Fuel cap would not pass the SVA test. The SVA was
not around when this Falcon was built.
The next page
deals with fitting the doors to the CBU (Central Body Unit)
