My Top Tip for saving money is to join the JBA Owners
Club, even although you may live far away from any
representatives. The membership fee is only £14.00p per
annum. £16.00 from April 2005.
The JBA Owners Club have secured a number of Discount
deals with various suppliers of components, including a 5%
and/or 10% Discount from JBA Cars on their accessories list, for newly
purchased kits.
This is a great saving on parts for your kit, although
you can source some of the JBA accessories listed from
other suppliers, you will use JBA for quite a few of the
parts.

Plan Your Work Area
If you have a garage, now is the time to give it a good
clear out. Ensure that the electrical wiring is up
to standard
Make sure it is safe for toddlers and children, Do not
leave chemicals lying around where they can reach them, you know
how they get into everything and they like to see what
you are doing.
You will need as much room as you can get.
A good deal
of space is taken up by the Central Body Unit (CBU)
until it is fitted to the chassis. I stored mine in the
back garden on a pallet for air circulation and covered
with polythene.
The front wings too, I hung them from the garage roof.
The boot is another space eater, but again can be stored
in a shed.
If you don't have a garage.
Many builders have faced these problems, and overcome
them by erecting a polythene structure, whilst working
on their kit and covering the kit with a car cover at
night. However think about the security issue.
If you have no space for this, then seek out a relative
or friend, who may be able to offer you space. Just
remember the time span needed to complete your project,
which can vary from one to two years, or even longer
depending on your circumstances.
Other options that are available are to enlist
the help of a kit car building firm, in or near
your area. They will be able to undertake part or full
builds, to any stage you require.
JBA Cars also have this facility. Email
them for a quote.
One really good option is to attend a meeting of a local
kit car club in your area, you will find their address
from your local library.
It is amazing the amount of help and information you can
obtain from them.
In Scotland a good club is the Scottish Kit Car
Club.
With monthly meetings in Grangemouth and Kilmarnock.
