Now in 2010 we do not have a JBA Factory producing any vehicle that has been evaluated in any articles in the various Kit Car Press magazines or approved by VOSA BIVA testing.
Please note these are the old build pages from 1999 to 2004 when we had a JBA Factory in full production from 1982 that was regularly featured in the Kit Car Press and complied with regulations including passing UK Vosa SVA/BIVA tests and TUV tests in the EU.
A 2004 JBA Engineering Ltd Sports SR kit has passed the new BIVA test in June 2009.
The instructions are for a full kit, which includes
stages one two and three and includes the side screen
glass from the accessories list, as glass cannot be sent
through the post.
Factory address is JBA
Engineering Ltd. Unit 39, Bradley Hall Industrial
Estate, Bradley Lane, Standish, Wigan. WN6 0XQ.
Telephone or Fax :- 01257-424549. Access from Junction
27 M6 motorway.
Options
You can have your kit delivered by employing the
services of a road transport contractor or you can let
JBA arrange this for you.
JBA uses the services of Bernard Williamson, 151
Southport New Road, Tarleton, Near Preston, Lancashire,
PR4 6HX. An enthusiastic veteran owner and refurbisher,
who has the knowledge and experience in transporting
kits.
On the other hand if you want to collect the kit
yourself, read the guide lines below.

Collecting
Yourself
Collecting
your car from the factory, remember the length of the
car.
The Falcon Sports is 150 inches that is
12'6", or 3810 mm.
The Falcon TSR is 165 inches long that is
13'9", or 4191 mm long.
You will need a trailer able to accommodate the size of
the chassis that you are collecting.
A
boat trailer is not suitable, you will also need rope or
straps to secure your kit to the trailer and a net or
hap to protect all the various bits that are stowed in
the CBU, which sits on the chassis.
Also corrugated paper and sticky tape for the windscreen
and sidescreen glass.
Alternatively
a Transit Luton type van. Hire a diesel engine Transit
as they are far more economical than the petrol version.
The front part of the
chassis sits on top of the Luton that is the front part
which sits over the cab, in an almost identical fashion
as the bottom blue lines of the Clarkson logo on this
van. The other parts of the kit are stored on the floor
of the van and underneath the chassis behind the
cab.
Remember to measure
the inside of the van diagonally from the front of the
Luton down to the bottom of the back door, for the kit
you are collecting, as vans come in varying lengths.
If you are collecting a donor vehicle package from JBA at the
same time, this is the ideal type of van.
If
you are collecting a rolling chassis with the steering,
engine, gearbox, propshaft, diff and back end fitted then hire a proper
car transporter trailer to
suit the length of your kit.
This is the safest option for a rolling chassis, but it
must be secured to the trailer properly with straps.
Look at how the rescue services do it.
JBA will temporarily fit the CBU to the chassis and
store various parts of the kit inside it including the
wings.
You must cover the CBU with a tarpaulin to keep the
contents secure.

This
photo shows the Sports kit with the CBU with the wings
temporarily attached at the
factory.
Various
components of the car are stowed inside the CBU for
transportation, including the wings, doors, windscreen frames etc.
if you are using a flat or transporter trailer.
The front wings on the Sports are 8 feet long and the
TSR wings are longer still.
Now
that all the information has been dealt with, it's now
down to the real thing, with proper photos.
The
next page deals with parts of the kit.
